Issue Position: Issue #3: End Federally Run Funded Social Services and Let States Decide

Issue Position

All federally run and funded Social Services like affordable healthcare, housing supplements and welfare, be ended and then handed to the states to decide if they would continue the programs at the state's expense or drop them.
This does not include Social Security because each individual has already paid in for their own.
IT IS YOURS!

Reason for this Action:
Since the start of the "war on poverty" in 1965, the United States has spent more than $5 trillion dollars trying to ease the plight of the poor. What we have received for this massive investment is- primarily- more poverty. The Federal Government requires no checks and balances in regards to the recipient. They are not required to seek employment at the federal level.
Thus
"It's a Handout"
NOT
"A hand up"

As Benjamin Franklin said in one of his articles, On the Price of Corn and Management of the Poor, 1766,
"I am for doing good to the poor, but...I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it."
